SRPP is delighted to announce the remarkable accomplishment of our involvement in the Financing of Thai Digital Energy Development Company Limited. Thai Digital Energy Development Company Limited (TDED), in collaboration with BCPG Public Company Limited and PEA ENCOM International Company, successfully secured a THB 240.16 million loan facility from KBANK. As trusted legal advisers, SRPP played a pivotal role in facilitating this significant transaction.
This groundbreaking initiative involves the implementation of a cutting-edge blockchain-based peer-to-peer solar rooftops energy trading platform, making it one of the pioneering smart city projects of its kind in Thailand, specifically at Chiangmai University. The project entails the installation of solar rooftop systems across more than 120 buildings within the university area. Notably, the energy generated by each building can be traded within the local vicinity, effectively mitigating curtailment risks commonly associated with solar rooftop projects.
The esteemed team at SRPP, comprising Passawan Navanithikul (Senior Partner), Sireedhorn Kittiphumwong (Senior Associate) and Viparvee Chaemchaeng (Associate), dedicated their expertise to advising Thai Digital Energy Development Company Limited throughout the execution of the facility agreement and other security agreements with TDED and KBANK.
The primary objective of this solar roof project is to foster the adoption of renewable energy by supplying electricity to Chiangmai University and actively supporting the university's Smart City-Clean Energy initiative. By promoting innovation and sustainable development, the project aims to cultivate a society characterized by wisdom and long-term prosperity within the community.
